I collaborated on a new book…and it’s out now!
Plus: Letter writing for Kamala and a date for my LA show.
Strawberries,
Hello! Let’s get right to it.
I helped with a new book…and it’s out now!
Just in time for Indigenous Peoples Day, I received my copy of My Life: Growing Up Native In America, now out from MTV Books.
I supported the Founder and CEO of IllumiNative, Crystal Echo Hawk (Pawnee), on the introduction to this collection of essays and poems uplifting powerful, diverse Native voices across Indian Country. The whole book is fantastic, and I especially love the hysterical, inspiring essay by Dash Turner (Yurok) on p.171.
Check it out, and follow along with IllumiNative to get involved with all the Native creatives and non-Native allies changing the narrative and changing the future.
I’m bringing The Funny Thing About A Panic Attack back to Los Angeles!
While tickets are selling for my show this Friday, October 18 in Ventura and selling FAST (91 out of 100 sold!) for my November 22 show in Columbus, I’ve locked in a date for my return to LA.
The LA show will be Sunday, December 15 at 2:30 pm.
Details and a ticket link to come!
We hosted a letter-writing party for Kamala…and you can too!
My partner Kristen (aka Pushkin aka The Queen) and I hosted a letter-writing party, encouraging folks in swing states to get out and VOTE. It was super easy and energizing and fun, and WAY less anger- and anxiety-inducing than watching the news or doomscrolling. Plus, pizza! Challenge: check out Vote Forward and spend 1 hour this week writing 20 letters. LET’S DO THIS.
With love & thanks & democracy & pizza,
Ben
