Issue 22: Very cool updates...and a very humble ask!
Know anyone seeking content support in 2024? (I'm your guy!)
Strawberries!
I hope this finds you healthy and well in all ways.
You haven’t received one of these newsletters in a while—and it’s not you, it’s me! The reason is, I’ve been heads down writing a one-man play with the working title “Self Indulgent and Highly Inappropriate.” More on that soon…!
In the meantime, with a few projects winding down (and the new year sneaking up!), I want to share some highlights from this year, include some recent photos to keep your attention, and humbly ask for your support as I seek new client work in 2024.
A brief update
Whew! What a year it’s been. I have been so fortunate to collaborate with so many incredible companies on profoundly impactful projects, including:
The brand book, editorial style guide, organizational impact report, campaign messaging strategy, and social media content for IllumiNative, a national Native woman-led racial and social justice organization dedicated to building power for Native peoples nationwide.
Messaging and strategy for digital ads, print ads, at-register donations, web banners, social media, billboards, and partner copy (including Airbnb, Google, Uber, and Pfizer), for Welcome.US, a major refugee resettlement organization. (President Obama even shared our World Refugee Day launch video, nbd.)
Press kits for the Oscar-winning production company Participant Media; training materials for NYC Tourism + Conventions, the agency behind many of New York City’s biggest events; newsletters for Social Driver, an award-winning digital strategy agency; and website rebrands with Captiva Branding, a flamtastic(!) agency based in DC.
Opportunities I’m seeking
Freelance, contract-based, or part-time writing opportunities that would ideally be:
10-25 hours/week, starting in January 2024
3-12 month contracts (though I’m open to one-off projects)
Remote (ideally) or hybrid/in-person (Los Angeles-based)
Copywriting & editing, content strategy, editorial, branding, social, marketing, video (and beyond!)

My humble ask
Please:
Consider forwarding my portfolio, resume, LinkedIn, or note (pasted below) to folks in your close network, or to any listservs, Slack groups, or other professional groups.
Let me know if you hear of any opportunities that fit my description above.
Let me know if there are folks in your network with whom I should connect.
I’m sending immense gratitude for your help here. And of course, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
With love and thanks and strawberries and dreidels,
Ben
